Can I post here

I'm having a senior's moment. A while back I changed my settings to Mode II (Adobe RGB) in Optimize image/Custom/Colour Mode. I took a whole slew of pics at the weekend with this setting and I'm looking at them now and they are all reporting color mode as 1a in the EXIF (I've used iMatch and NC and EXIFER just to be on the safe side). PLUS there is no underscore at the start of the filename (which should indicate adobe rgb). I'm shooting in Aperture priority mode, but just tested and the same even happens in Manual (or is that Mug's) mode.

So my question, oh wise ones, what the $#%# gives - shouldn't the EXIF be showing adobe rgb etc etc. Am I STILL in mode 1a despite what I told that pesky little D70? PS I shoot in the raw

Hey stubbsy,

you've set the colour mode in the Optimize image/Custom/Colour Mode seciton, but is the Custom option the one you are using as the optimize image setting or are you using another Optimize image setting.

Guess what I didn't do - thanks Gooseberry. Selected it and all, but didn't highlight Done and press enter at the top of the menu (what a crap way for Nikon to do this - and yes I know it's that way in other menus too)
