Convert to Black and White

Newer members often state that they think their question is too basic, or stupid, or whatever, to be posted. Convert to Black and White

This may sound a dumb question but here goes

I would like to take some shots in B&W can I change the camera settings to do this or should I change the images on photoshop?

Ive read the manual but cant seem to find it in there

Steve75, there's no such thing as a dumb question. (With the exception of anything Jessica Simpson asks)

The D70 does not allow direct conversion of B&W in the camera. i have seen a few point and shoot cameras that do this, but the D70 is a serious camera.

In order to convert an image to black and white you will need to do this in your image editing software. Pretty much all editing software will have some method of doing this. Nikon View editor does and that comes with the camera.

MattK has posted a superb method of converting to B&W in photoshop on this forum somewhere. i will try find the link.....

Thanks Steve for the info provided....my coolpix 885 can convert to B&W i thought the D70 being such a good camera it must....but looks like I was wrong

Also that link you provided,thats how I have been converting to B&W.....
