It's almost Christmas

Postby gstark on Wed Sep 14, 2005 1:58 pm

NEW CHALLENGE ANNOUNCED!

31 bookings already!

And planning for our Christmas dinner is well in hand.

Last night an intrepid group went to Sunny Seafood Restaurant in Hurstville - the same restaurant that we had our Friday night AW dinner at - and enjoyed more of their superb fare.

Here's the deal for our 2005 Christmas Dinner -

Date: Friday December 9, 2005
Note this has changed from what we originally indicated, as the cost for the Saturday would have simply made the event untenable.

Location: Sunny Seafood Restaurant
320 Forest Road, Hurstville

Cost $45 pp

Menu:
    Mixed Entree

Deep Fried Lobster Salt and Pepper

    Fillet of Fish Snow Pea

    Fillet Steak Cantonese Style

    Crisp Skin Chicken

    Pork Spare Ribs Peking Sauce

    Two kinds Mushrooms with Vege

    Peking Duck (San Chow Bow)

    Fried Rice.

2 jugs of soft drink per table is included at this price.

Bookings through this form. PMs and emails to me about this event will be ignored. Is it that damn difficult to send an email to this one purposefully created address?

Please note that in order to reduce the workload on our administrators, we will be requiring payments to be made in advance for this dinner. Confirmations will only be made for those bookings paid in advance.

Seating is limited, so we encourage you make your bookings as early as possible. Those who have attended our other dinners (Christmas last year, or our AW dinners) will attest to the quality oif the food, cameraderie, and just general good times and fun that we have at these events.

Bring it on!

Cash, in small, unmarked bills.

Or a money order. :)

We need to check with Philomena but that's who we're expecting (hoping, actiually) to be the Seargent-At-Arms.

For the monent, an email to the address given above giving your forum name, real name, number of reservations required, and any special dietary needs, and we'll get back to you with more info as we get the finer logistical details finalised.

I know it's early days and much of this won't have been decided yet, but for planning purposes, are you thinking to arrange some meet / shoot get-togethers for the weekend also...? eg - Birddog, will there be a mini-meet on the Saturday, do you think?

Cheers

Wait a minute! I won't be in the country! Is that why it's on my birthday?

My mother in law flies into Australia that very day so I would DEFINATELY like to be there but will have to clear it with Sam first. I'll let you know as soon as I do.

Isn't it ironic that an anagram of MOTHER IN LAW is WOMAN HITLER!
Coincidence? I think not!!

Welcome Her and Sam to the dinner, you should invite her to try the best seafoods in Australia, she'll appreciate it.

Are you still interested in a guided tour of the Hunter Valley vineyards with the outlaws?

If there was something else to do up that way over the weekend other than "just" a party on the Friday night it would probably be more worthwhile organising interstate travel.
Any suggestions?

If it's the one where we had our Friday AW, it can hold quite a few.

Actually, the current number is 37. the room will hold quite a bit more, but we're not expecting to fill it this time (as did in the AW).
