Challenge results. Here are the results of our most recent challenge, Landmarks.
Thanx Scott for your work on this. Result of 14 voters 1: The White Horse, Whitehorse Road, Box Hill - 10 voters (33) BAR 2: The Big Marino, Goulburn - 10 voters (2Cool BAR 3: Railway Square, Sydney - 7 voters (27) BAR 4: Sydney Harbour Bridge, Sydney (I know...) - 7 voters (20) BAR 5: DUKE PAOA KAHANAMOKU - Legend Surfer, Northern Beaches NSW - 7 voters (16) BAR 6: Point Perpendicular - Jervis Bay Territory - NSW - 5 voters (15) BAR 7: Australiana - 4 voters (14) BAR 8: Melbourne Skyline - 3 voters (11) BAR Get 'em while they're hot 2 only D70 bodies, Au$560 delivered. A couple of months ago Poon told me of a couple of D70s that were lying around in the office. These were described as being new or near new, and we sold them at a bargain price of $580. He's just found another couple of D70 bodies, and he's describing them as new, with sealed accessories etc, but they're not in their original boxes. Caveat Emptor: I'm told that the shutter count on one of the bodies last time was not that of a new camera. Unfortunately, I'm not able to verify the shutter count on these. That said, Poon is describing them as "new", and the price is still one that's very attractive, so it's first in, best dressed. PM me with your interest, and then I'll tell you how we'll handle the details. 3:30 pm Saturday October 20 There's some maintenance occurring at Dreamhost, which will cause some service disruptions. Please be patient, and only throw things at your computer if a politician turns up on your doorstep asking for your vote. Last edited by gstark on Sat Oct 20, 2007 4:44 pm, edited 2 times in total.

Congrats to Greg B and all of the fellow challenge participants. It was interesting to see the different theme interpretations by all.
Well done!
Congrats to all - my only regret is that I had to revert to 'old faithful' and photograph the Bridge for my entry. Knowing what I know now, I'd probably take a photograph of the Mr T Snickers Ad Billboard in Glebe, which has (I believe) achieved near-iconic status in that suburb

Thanks folks. I must say my pleasure at winning is tempered somewhat by the relatively low participation.
The theme was my suggestion, based on some images posted by Yi-P, and I thought it would be simple enough that anybody who wanted to could have a go. I pushed the "no restriction on PP" idea too - mainly because I had seen a lot of interesting work on RedBubble, where the emphasis is more on art than photography, and some of the PP work is spectacularly successful. There is a thread elsewhere here about why the challenges have lost participation, and there has been some good feedback. The admins, mods and key members are taking note. One reason given for non-participation is that some don't think their stuff is sufficiently worthy. If I may respond to that... Bullshit!!!! I was a member of a camera club back in the late seventies, and we had a comp every month. The B&W stuff had to be printed and mounted, the colour comp were all transparencies (no PP of any kind obviously), and we had a massive range of abilities and entries. Some was high quality, some not so much (I recall one fellow, always had his wife in the shot in her cardie, clutching her handbag. Could have been quirky, but actually it was just daggy) But I digress. I hope more people participate. We will try and breathe new life into the process, including some simplification of entering and voting. Stay tuned. Greg - - - - D200 etc
