If you're reading this, then you're on our new host.

Welcome, and enjoy.

If you're a new user who registered in the last two days, then you're guilty of not reading the big warning messages I posted here that specifically asked you to NOT register, as the database had been frozen pending the move to the new site.

You'll therefore need to register again.

If you haven't yet done so, please remember to complete (and forward to us) the Anniversary Questionnaire:

Thankyou so much Gary and Leigh for all your efforts over the last couple of days. It really must have been so terrible for you both. I know myself it was a horrible experience, and I'm sure many others feel the same!

It's great to have you back, and we really do appreciate all your wonderful efforts, not only over the last few days, but over the whole life of this forum. You guys brighten my day!

THANKYOU

I had broadband installed yesterday and when I couldn't log on I assumed Telstra had stuffed up my settings.

QUOTE: (my wife to Telstra technician) How long will this take?
QUOTE: (Telstra chap in reply) Well the last one took me 6 hours!
QUOTE: (My wife) Why's that?
QUOTE (Telstra) I've got no idea what I'm doing!!

Seriously!

Thanks again Gary/Leigh :D

I did notice that the RSS feed is still pointing to the old host... perhaps you could fix that when you have a spare moment...

All,

Thanx muchly for the kind words; we do appreciate it.

John, thanx for that; I'll have a quick squiz, although the RSS feed is Leigh's baby, and I may need to have him look at that.

I'm seeing a couple of cookie related issues here; is anyone else seeing that? If so, I may just change the default cookie that we use here, so that it doesn't get itself all tied up in a knot.

Please let me know.

And please let me know of any other issues you might run across too.

Thanx.

Firstly thanks for the hard work you've put in getting this awesome resource back on line so fast

I had a cookie problem when I first logged in. I enetered username & password & ticked remember me. I then went into a thread and created a new post. I clicked the preview button so I could see how the post looked and got presented the login verification screen again. I completed the details and was taken back to a new, blank post screen. Fortunately my humungously long post was on the clipboard so I just pasted it back in. All worked fine after that.

It also seems a little slow at present, but time will tell.

Cheers
Peter

I was just informed by Leigh that the RSS feed is working again...

It is, but if you use RSS then you will need to redirect the feed to http://www.d70users.net/indexrss.php

The .com version still seems to be pointing to the old host / site...

Yes it will, and that won't be changing in the short term, as you should now be getting redirected to the new site. Nor does the old host site have access to the current version of the database. What are you seeing in your browser's address bar?

Are you using an old link to the site - perhaps directly to a specific page (like the very old index page) that's pulling you through my host rather than the GoDaddy feed? If so, you might want to refresh that link.

I'll be creating an alias to the .net domain from the .com domain after the weekend, once the fallout from Wednesday's dramas settle down. Then both sites will share the same location, and I'll reset the sitename back to the original.

In early May we should also have DSLRUsers transferred across to my account (it's currently in Leigh's name) and I can then set up the appropriate alias for that as well.
