Anniversary WeekendLast evening, through the good graces of Birddog and his family, Lindy and I. together with Matt K and Philo, enjoyed a sumptuous meal at the Sunny Seafood Restaurant in Hurstville.
For the slow learners amongst you, that's where we'll be having our Friday night banquet on the Anniversary Weeken, and if you've not booked for this meal, you are going to be missing out on what I can only describe as a truly special meal. The lobster was ... let's just say that it was out of the world. The oysters ... divine. The whole of the meal was first class, and the service was second to none. Having now sampled the wares of both of our AW restaurants, I can only say that those who are not coming here for this weekend - can you believe it's just three weeks away - are mad. This is going to be one hell of a party! For those who are coming ... we may have a few other surprises in store ... g.

Sounds good!
I'm all booked now.. started to getting into the spirit.. I know from experience that about 24hrs beforehand I'm going to get excited/nervous/happy/nauseous.. Now.. do I lug the tripod up with me or do I accidently forget and end up purchasing a monopod at Birddy's? PlatinumWeaver / Dean

I would humbly suggest, after a quick look around, that the Gitzo G1588 is a little too much monopod for me.

Gary,
For interstate people will neat casual clothes be OK for both dinner events, say dress jeans, open neck shirt or t-shirt, and jacket. fozzie

Foz, Yes, neat casual will be the go for the whole weekend. With one exception. Neat can never be applied to me. In all seriousness, comfort is the order of the day, and that's especially true for those doing the Lavender Bay and Blackwattle Bay activities. The former of these involves quite a bit of walking (as has already been mentioned) and comfortable shoes are a must. The Blackwattle Bay adventure will be on a working factory-ish type of site, and while I don't believe protective gear will be required, I would think that a sensible dress attitude - jeans rather than shorts, and closed shoes rather than sandals or thongs - would be the go. Mealtimes .... exactly as you've suggested. The only other observation I might make is that August is generally accepted to be the windiest month of the year for Sydney, and so for those coming from interstate, a windcheater, jacket or coat of some kind would probably not be a bad idea. g.
