Please note that this is "Picture of the Week"; do not confuse that with "best picture of the week", which is a concept of which we have no understanding.

This is a very different and creative treatment of what is basically an everyday subject. The image is well worth clicking on to get a view with greater detail.

Congratulations Trent - very deserved winner! As Gary has said this shot was taken thinking outside the square...out of the three you took in the series I liked this one the best. Well done, stand tall and proud. as you go into the POTW Hall of Fame :).

Great work!
I had no idea you could get a long exposure looking right in the afternoon, usually at that time of day the background would be overexposed technically and creatively fantastic!

Well done but I am very curious about this one.

From the approach angle it would appear to be landing ( would be much steeper of blastoff) but from the spacing of the wingtip strobes it appears to be accelerating the closer it gets to the ground - Wierd :shock:

Steve: looks like he sped up for landing hey! :lol:

It's just an issue of perspective though: the plane seems to move less the further it is away from the camera. The shot is taken at maybe a 60° angle to the runway, so the left hand side is the closest to the camera, and the right hand side is the furthest away.
