Picture Of The Week - May 2, 2006I'm up! I'm up!
(Don't anyone -- especially gstark, sirhc, birddog, glen and anyone else -- take that out of context.) And this week, it's this beautiful shot which is so simple and yet so good from Gordon: I like it. A lot. And it's this week's Picture Of The Week. Original post can be found here. Congrat Gordon - great image to me it has a bit a mix between National Geographic and Sci-fi feel to it.
Nice choice Leigh
It does, doesn't it? All the pic needs is the death star hanging ominously in the background, next to a second moon
Well done Gordon. Loved this shot the first time I saw it.

...or because of it. Gordon, this is a wonderful image. It's one of those that I just keep looking at - the faintly lit surface of the moon is eerie, with a real sci-fi feel about it. Congratulations. Frank My photo gallery: http://www.frankalvaro.net

Opportunities for pics like that sometimes go with the job - if I take a few minutes to have a look at the sky in between observing, or in this case, in the middle of closing up the dome and stowing the scope. Gordon D70, D200, CP5700
Congrats on POTW Gordon.
This image really did stand out last week. Nice choice Leigh Steve (Nikon D200/D700)

Gordon,
this is a beautiful photo and well deserving of photo of the week. I love staring at the moon when it is in this "there but not there" stage, and you have captured it beautifully. Cheers, Suzanne Canon EOS 350D Tamron 18-200mm
Just what do you think you're doing Dave?
Congrats Gordon, and apologies - I thought I had commented on your POTW, but I didn't (alzheimers is setting in !!!!)

Congrats on a well deserved POTW Gordon, I love how this shows the earth-shine on the rest of the moon so clearly. It's a lovely shot!
