I have the good fortune to get to choose picture of the week this week and like most weeks this is quite a daunting challenge. There were a lot of strong candidates this week, but three in particular took my eye with the one below from Fab (Jeko70) winning by a whisker. There is lots to like about this image. It's very well framed, makes wonderful use of colour and has lines that really draw your attention into this image. Bottom line this is a very well crafted photo, but more than that it also strongly evokes a sense of place. You know this was shot in Asia somewhere and you can feel the age of the buildings even though we see but a touch.
Thanks Fab for sharing this one with us. The original post can be found here
Favourable mention goes to these two extremely different images in the posts below. It really was difficult picking between these three this week.
The great black and white bridge climb image from nnnnsic in THIS post (image #4)
and the wonderful postcard shot from Manta in THIS (specifically his final rework on the second page)

Where are they running off to?
Great image, in what I considered to be a most difficult week to be choosing PotW. I saw maybe a half dozen potential choices.
Well done all.

Wonderful shot there Fab. The expression in the young monks is great as is the framing, colour and texture.
I'm very jealous, I am planning a trip to Cambodia and Vietnam next year.
Great choice Peter.

I loved this set, and this shot is a wonderful capture. So often in these scenes we capture other togs, or tourists, this is great!

Thanks a lot Peter to choose my pic.
And thanks all for the “fab” comments.
It’s a honor for me get the POtW. Wow!
Yeah, Cambodia, great country.
Italian born, Aussie Citizen and I call OZ home, but I have to say I love Asia.
Has been easy to take good shoots there because the beauty is all around you.
Friendly lovely people and beautiful landscapes…. good mixture to get the right shot! Eventhough life is not so easy for most of them and that is a shame as a westerner (Average annual income in Cambodia is less than $350US).
By the way go there and enjoy it.
What I’ll suggest you is, try to stay out of the tourist trail, you’ll find a new wonderful world.
My gurus are Steve McCurry, Michael Coyne and Carol Guzy so, after meet and read everything from and about them….Now I’m trying to get close to their way of thinking….
