Vigorous discussion of the images and techniques is welcome and encouraged. Criticism of any mod for their choice is not. Over the past week, I have been watching an excellent series from BBC Four
called The Genius of Photography (you can read about it here )
and episode three has been examining The Decisive Moment, the frozen moment in time.
robw25's Kiteboarder shot, taken a split second before the board smacked him in the head,
puts the viewer right in the action. This is a moment frozen in time allowing us to contemplate at
our leisure that instant before everything goes pear shaped. I think it illustrates perfectly one of
the characteristics of photography which make it unique, the frozen moment, captured forever.
Great shot Rob, thanks for sharing it with us, and congratulations on being the first PotW for 2008.

Congratulations, Rob! Sort of makes the pain worth it now.
Mal I've got a camera, it's black. I've got some lens, they are black as well.

Well done Rob. Looking at that shot we can feel your pain.

Well selected! It is the kind of image that makes you forget techniques and concentrate on what is happening that fraction of a second. Congratulations!
