Each week, one of the moderators or administrators selects an image that, for whatever reason, catches their eye. Please feel free to add your comments here. Vigorous discussion of the images and techniques is welcome and encouraged. Criticism of any mod for their choice is not. This week's PotW is from biggerry. I am not a religous person at all, quite the contrary in fact, but I find churches of all persuasions to be amazing places visually, and great photographic opportunities. Gerry has posted this and another shot (see thread here) to show how difficult it is to capture such scenes effectively, and here's an example of how it hasn't worked out. Well, I might agree that it is difficult, but I reckon Gerry has nailed it with both shots, of which this is my favourite (but only just, they are both great). Top work Gerry.

Thanks guys/gals, quite a suprise given the super high quailty of images here in the last week or so, especially Andrew's melbourne from teh sky, DaveB's Antarctica shots, Wendells memorable glamour shoot, Ray's sunrise...the list goes on....

Beautiful. Church innards and outers both are often a goldmine of stunning architecture, and this one's a beauty.
Oh how I want a little fishy of my own.

What a gorgeous church - and an absolutely beautifully executed shot - I'm sure that it is hard to convey the grandeur of such a building and finding the correct exposure of such an expansive interior must be a shocker .... and you've done it all :) Congrats on POTW - well deserved :)
