There was an excellent group of images, including marvellous macros, super sports and beautiful botanical shots, to choose from this week. Having said that though, choosing PotW was ridiculously easy, because from my standpoint there was daylight between the winner and the rest, no disrespect to anyone. The winning image is this sublime creation from wendellt. Here we have that rare mix of imagination and technical competence that moves an image from photograph to art. Wendell's explanation of how he has achieved the photograph (in camera - no CGI stuff!) should be a lesson to all of us in terms of the way to think about making a photograph. Congratulations Wendell. Here is the link to the original thread. Judging by the number and tone of the comments there, many of you had already voted.

Trevor,
I agree with everything that you've said. This week produced some exceptional images, yet this one stands head and shoulders above the rest. Well chosen.
Wendell, congratulations.
