PotW 17 January 2012This week I have chosen a B&W image as PotW.
If you were rifling through your grandmother's shoebox of old photographs, this one would not look out of place. That's because the subject matter and the conversion work so well together. B&W conversions are difficult, as plenty of threads here attest. Does the 'tog go out especially to find a B&W situation, or is it a case of "can I rescue this image by converting it to B&W?" In my view, the latter option rarely works. Anyway, here is the image - it is inmotion's local horse show picture: It is the image without the red border - I agree with others that it is the better of the two. I like the vignetting too. And you can pick up the thread here: http://www.dslrusers.com/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=41904 TFF (Trevor)

Re: PotW 17 January 2012Well done. A period shot that could well come from an old album.
