Each week, one of the moderators or administrators selects an image that, for whatever reason, catches their eye. Please feel free to add your comments here. Vigorous discussion of the images and techniques is welcome and encouraged. Criticism of any mod for their choice is not. Please note that this is "Picture of the Week"; do not confuse that with "best picture of the week", which is a concept of which we have no understanding.

There were 2 contenders for this week and I had a very difficult time trying to work out which image deserved the podium. Ir was almost a tie! BUt...here it is...Gregs masterful image of a lillium is beautifully crafted, composed with a critical eye and superbly lit, (lighted?). I chose it over the runner up for its classical, botanical, science/art just plain wonderful beautiful photograph. I also chose it because Greg has been posting some beautiful work recently and is creatively on fire. Imagine the gentle power of this image if it was enlarged to 2 metre x 2 metres and well framed! Here's the image.. And here is the runner up....a wonderful cityscape of Sydney that seems to float on clouds above the earth, by Remorhaz, (Rodney). This image is also beautifully crafted and has a fairytale whimsical element that is just so delightful in a subject that is photographed so often. Here's the image...
Regards

Coupla beauties there - congrats to both members, Greg & Rodney, and also to selector Matt.
Each has its own exposure issues to deal with and each has been handled perfectly.

The colour in both is quite striking in their own ways.

Both are very good, but my choice is the first.
