Each week, one of the moderators or administrators selects an image that, for whatever reason, catches their eye. Please feel free to add your comments here. Vigorous discussion of the images and techniques is welcome and encouraged. Criticism of any mod for their choice is not. Please note that this is "Picture of the Week"; do not confuse that with "best picture of the week", which is a concept of which we have no understanding.

In looking at the images posted over the last week or so I must say I'm a little disappointed in the number of images shared. We have some fine photographers at varying skill levels who frequent the forum yet this week it would seem less people were out and about with their cameras. Hopefully it's just a blip amd you all get out and put that expensive piece of technology you have to good use (note to self - same applies to me) That said the quality of what was on offer was very good and a few images took my eye. Interestingly the photo I've chosen (original thread HERE) has only received 33 views and no comments since it was first posted last Sunday. I think it's an excellent black and white shot and a strong composition. There's a wonderful sense of mystery and beauty about the image that really appeals to me. Congrats to zafra52.

A great shot by zafra52 and excellent choice, Peter.
Powerful lines that leads to . . . and that’s what makes it a superb image
