Cross processing?

Anyone had E6 film cross processed through C-41?

Thinking of playing myself sometime soon, heard you need high contrast - bright or dull lighting for it to be most effective.

Provia 400 seems to be the choice pros use for most cross-processing.

Love to see some examples, helpful hints to remember etc...

From memory cross processing also changes your asa....... give Vision Graphics Sydney a pro lab a call and they should help you out as they have done a bit of this..........

Why bother? It's a lifetime of work to perfect the normal processes. I once had an assistent who wanted to teach my students cross processing before they learnt anything else. Turns out that's all my new assistent could do. He didn't last long.

I've cross-processed before.

I'll have to go through my neg books to find it, but I'll do it this weekend and see if I can scan some in for you.

It gives negs a blue-green caste over things. Great if you're shooting very cool or oceanic shots.

I had some slide film accidentally processed in C-41 once, I ended up with a very unreal looking opera house, orange-yellow tones.
I'll try and find it.

ah i wasnt really talking about personally cross-processing, more taking it to a lab like vg.

guess im not that 'hardcore' when it comes to cross processing.

That's okay.

I took mine to a lab, too;

I went to Platinum in Darlinghurst... it's where most of the art students went. They're pretty good some of the time, but half the time they'll rip you off.

Usually when they're not ripping you off, however, they're leaving dust marks or fingerprints on negs.

That was a year or so ago so hopefully they've gotten better.

ok on my search of cross-processing i came across some interesting PS actions / scripts for CP'ing digitally.

Will post if anyone is interested. Interesting to see how it compares to real E6 down C41 style.
