Scanning through my slides I came across this one. Shot in 1971 on a Nikon F in London.

2 of the posters are fascinating: Uria Heap’s release of Salisbury and the Caravan poster for the Lyceum on Sunday April 18th 1971 - all seats 50 pence  How times have changed

Comments always welcome.

Chris,

Great nostalgic shot - too bad I'm too young to recognise any of the names.

Cheers
Peter

That would be Uriah Heep... Reputedly the inspiration for the Spinal Tap movie...

Barclay James Harvest were listed as well on the Lyceum poster - a great band...

As you said - fascinating - and it just goes to show how important it is to take photos that may not be interesting now but will be in the future... BTW... If you had taken that photo a few months earlier, the tickets would have cost 10 shillings... 1971 was the year that Britain went decimal...

Firstly, I noticed Salisbury poster and asked myself - Where, the hell, in Sydney such poster could survive on the wall? And then I've red comment that it's been shot in London 1971 ... The year I was born ... But I'm listening to the guys like Led Zepplin, Uriah Heep, Deep Purple, Nazareth etc...

Really, nostalgia .... :)

Wow Chris,

I've seen a few of the scans you have posted. I reckon it would be a blast to go through all your old slides. I really like your shooting style and to see how it has developed and changed over time would be facinating.

Keep scaning
