extreme contrast fine grain bw film help?

not really after a c41 process but i really want something with extreme fine grain i like the 100 delta by ilford. i heard about pan f 50 iso i think.
can anyone suggest something?

From memory I used to get better results using agfa BW film through fine grain developer or D76 used 1dev:1water just watch your temputure as too warm it will bring up the grain. Pan F is not realy a good all round BW stock. More info on the Agfa site or Kodak site

yeah i heard pan f isn't very happy being pulled or pushed.

A fine grain developer that I use to use was called Acufine. Then there was also Kodak's Microdol X developer which was for fine grain if I remember correctly. It seems like its contrast was pretty low.

Going the other way to get large grain we would sometimes use warm Dektol paper developer for Tri-X film.
