Have you taken up a job publicising Canberra?
Regardless - well done. To often people miss photo ops in their neighbourhood because they just plain don't know!

Stubbsy,
yes that is the point.
Besides the balloon fiesta is quite an exitement if you can crawl out of bed early.
It is a great buzz and there are international contestants.
Over the years we had pavlovas, cows, Michelin Man, etc, now the bees from texas decorate our skies.
Come all Canberrra D70ers and rise early to the occasion, it is worthwhile.
Great photo opportunity.
Cheers

I would love to be in your position CD to photograph this event. I am always intrigued by the brilliance of the balloon and the colours are phenomenal

CD,
To capture the vivid colour of the balloons while on the ground or in the air would be absolutely brilliant.
Look forward to your collection of shots between 12-21 March. If there is a 'fozzie bear' balloon, please capture it and post for my sake.
ta ta for now,

Hi,
my D70 is in hospital at the moment but I found my old
Ricoh RDC5300 and charged the batteries last night.
I got up a hour earlier and on my way to work had a stop over
at the balloons.

Hi all,
the Canberra Balloon Fiesta 2006 is happening April 15-23, 2006
This year Pipy, the Scottish special shape Piper balloon will star.
Lilly and Joey, two bees from the USA are returning to this year's fiesta.
A balloon in the shape of a windmill from Holland will be there.
Perhaps a good place for a mini meet ?
Cheers,

There are always a throng of photographers and plenty of chimps at this event.
Still - it would be great to catch up with everyone. By the way - how nice are the autumn colours right now.

Wow, fantastic images. Wish I could have been there. Looks like the polariser got a good work out! I love the last shot of all the balloons and the shot of parliament house is nice too, although needs a straighten.

The balloons make fantastic subjects, terrific color and sharp edges, I'd love to be there, great photo opportunity...
Wonder if it's worth approaching some of the balloon pilots to see if they want any shots as these look terrific...
Would love to get some firing up while still on the ground, you'd get some great scenes in the twilight I reckon...
