Ok What is next?

We have a couple of options..

1) An Autum colours meet around one of the older suburbs
2) A casual cuppa/drink/glass o wine and a gear compare at a members place
3) picnic around near the museum
4) Try to grab a model (male of female) (there are a few listed at http://www.net-model.com eg: http://www.net-model.com/Users/ListUser ... ortOrder=1
and take him/her into, say the gardens and do a shoot (might cost but I hope for trade for prin, TFP)

any ideas, preferences?

MHD,
What are your intentions to do with the model(s) in the park?

hehe no intentions just thought provoking suggestions!

A friend on another forum (yes I have been posting some where else!) said he does TFP with some beginner models in Adeliade.. Just thinking!

(yes it is a lot eaiser and less "trouble" to go shoot the autumn leaves)

A lot less trouble but a lot less fun ;-)

I'd prob be up for the model shoot but i'm away all April. Once i get back and get some work done on my spare room studio we could even do some indoors stuff perhaps.

Hi,

I would like to participate in any of the above mentioned activities.
Tiny, little problem: my D70 is still in hospital.
However don't wait for me and my D70; I am quite happy to come to whatever eventuates.
I guess the model shoot would interest me, because I haven't done much people photography. (without D70 rather difficult though ...)
Scott, what about we meet at your place, have a cuppa, talk and check out gear.
let's include a sensor clean, I know that some of us still haven't seen it happen, let alone tried themselves.
We could then have a walk around the campus.
Those who are armed could do autumn photos.

What do you think ?

CD,
I thought your D70 will back to you next week?
If you don't have your D70 don't come to the model shoot  It's dangerous and poisonous
I wish you soon get it back :D :D

Hi Birddog,

yes, model shoot without D70 !!! cannot take any beauties home.
Well I mean lovely shots of lovely ladies that is.
The emporess (she who must be obeyed) would not approve of me taking beauties home.
D70 in hospital; well let's allow Maxwell 15 working days which has now
gone by, plus some extra days and weekend for shipping.
As I know my luck, a part will be on order and some significant delay will occur.

What do we know about a D90 ?

Cheers

hmhhh, very few responses

Hi,

it would appear that hardly any local responses are coming in re "what next".
I'm pretty keen on having a meeting with a purpose, theme or motto.
I'd like to discover and learn a little more.
However without my D70 it is a bit limited; I can't go on a photo shoot actively participating.
I had a look at one of the model sites and a few seem to be happy to pose for photos.
Scott would you like to tell me again what D70 related bits and pieces you have.
I also believe it could be educational to get together and discuss techniques etc.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Cheers

Birddog, you are also welcome ...

I'm sooooo jealous of you guys, a model shoot would be great to learn from...

Christian, D70 still not back from sick bay? Any word from the docter as to when? You must be getting lonely without your toy

CD & MHD,
To make it happens, have a BBQ lunch and lot of topics will be brought out & discussed after 1/2 dozen of Red  and conclude with the rest of the other half dozen.

Hi Mudder,

I'll give Maxwell a call tomorrow and find out where the problem is (so I hope ?!!!).
Yes it gets a bit lonely without my toy.
I'm also having lots of ideas what to do with it.
Autumn is also manisfesting itself quickly in Canberra.

Hi MHD,

I quite like Birddog's idea about a BBQ lunch, etc.
Shall we just call one for next weekend, close to your place (If you know a particular spot ?)
I believe you have no wheels, I could pick you guys up if you like.

Come to the BBQ next weekend.
Where will be annonced and participation is required.

Be there or be square !!!

Cheers

Sounds good.... Our place is to small for sensor cleaning gear lusting etc...

You know where they hire those paddle boats on the lake?

There are some electric BBQ's there...

I think I do,

and that would be a nice spot.
Imagine sunset over the lake WITHOUT clouds.
The lake might turn into liquid green metal !
Give us some more detail if you can and I will be there.

Cheers

Sounds like fun

...Are we sure the forecast is for clear skies?

Hi ru32day,

good point.
I don't know what the forecast is for Saturday or Sunday.
If the weather gods are happy, shall we have a BBQ either on Saturday or Sunday lunchtime (13:00) ?
If the weather gods are unhappy, shall we consider the National Gallery
inside ?
We could do model shots there of this supersize pregnant lady. :D

Any suggestions are very welcome.

I rang Maxwell today, no firm, definite but casual: you should have your camera back this week.

Cheers

BOM is predicting that Saturday/Sunday will be dry and warmer.

National Gallery & area - the other day the way home from Kingston I went via Parkes and the Parliamentary Triangle - the area has some fairly good buildings hidden away, some look very good at night (idea if another night meet is on the cards sometime).

Is the area marked as "87" on this map where we're thinking of meeting if the weather is good?

Hi daniel_r,

thanks for the good news according to BOM.
Area 87 is almost spot on, I believe 87 is a car park.
22 looks like the Ferry Terminal and Boat Hire.
I guess the BBQs are around 14 and 13.
Scott, please help us out here.
Where do we want to meet for the BBQ, what day and what time ? BTW it is starting to get dark sooner and sooner these days.
We or some of us may consider factoring in a night shot on the same day ?

Again, suggestions are very welcome.

Regards
CD

I would prefer a lunch thing (purely because I have something on that night) Or a sunday thing
The BBQ's are right near the ferry terminal (22)

Last weekend there were people sailing etc on the lake...

My preference 3pm sunday for a late lunch into sunset meet
(but we better decide soon)

MHD,

I'm fine with either of your suggestions.
Let me be the one who says: Sunday 15:00.
Now let the arguments start ...
