Problem sorted: WTB: 24-70 or similar, f2.8

Hi All.

I'd appreciate it if anyone in Melbourne would allow me to borrow their Sigma 24-70, Tamron 28-75, or god forbid, their Canon L baby...

I'm photographing a kickboxing event for a friend this Sunday 22nd June, and I'd appreciate the extra f stop your lens would afford me.

I treat my camera gear as though it had an extra zero on the end when I bought it, so I promise to treat your lens the same.

Thanks in advance.

Paul

EDIT Thursday: Problem solved. I bought jDear89's from the For Sale section. Thanks to all for the offers and replies.

Hi Paul,
I dont have a fast standard zoom (plus I'm in Sydney) but have you thought about getting a 50mm 1.8, Way fast and can be picked up pretty cheaply- should be found for less than $150 new. Definately a great addition to your kit and the image quality is as comparable to any L zoom. Also gives you a good portrait lens with the possibility of a nice blurry background at large apertures. Most people would say the 50 1.4 is better build quality and possibly better image quality, but then you'd be up for around $450.

Send me a PM. I have a 24-70 that's been doing nothing ever since I bought a 24-105. I really should sell it but it's there as a backup in case I kill the 24-105.

And I've got a 50 1.8, which I won't be using on Sunday either :-)
