Does anybody know where to get the mount that can convert Canon cameras into the Nikon F mount and therefore being able to use the Nikkor lenses?

I assume it's not advisable to put the mount on yourself, right?

You would lose metering, and auto focussing.

The lens would still be able to be fucussed manually.

I personally wonder why somebody would want one of these: I suspect that you'd be losing more than you'd gain.

Well to me they're novelty items, "I have a Nikkor on my 350D!! Now you can't criticise me for being a brand loyalist!!" type of thing.

Actually, you still have metering. In Manual mode the camera's meter will work. Because the camera has no way of controlling the lens' aperture, Tv-priority and P modes do not work. But Av-priority should work fine. You set the lens aperture and the camera will set the shutter speed to suit.

If an adapter doesn't allow this then it's not triggering the microswitch that lets the camera know a lens is attached. This can be worked around, but good adapters will do this for you.

I'm actually considering one of these adapters, and the reason is that there are some speciality lenses available in the F-mount. Not your usual lenses, but the funky UV-Nikkors are ones that spring to mind...
But in general I would agree with Gary that you're better off getting a lens with the appropriate electronic linkages.

Just to state the obvious for anyone considering this, with G-type Nikkors you can only use them wide-open in this arrangement.

I wouldnt complain using a FF canon with my nikon WA ais lenses
