Suggest hire/borrow camera and/or 24-XX?

I'm in Sydney, but going to Melbourne to shoot an attempt at the world hour record for a human powered vehicle. http://www.whoops160.blogspot.com/

I have a 30D, 70-200IS, Sigma 18-50/2.8. I may be buying a 24-70/2.8 before then.

I'd quite like to take a second body, and a 24-70/2.8.

What hire places are there locally, and what am I likely to be looking at to hire a 20D (or 1DII?) for a week? The Bonzo place at >$200/day doesn't seem very reasonable to me - that suggests they expect to get less than 30 days hire in the first year out of the 5D.

I'd be tempted to buy one instead... anyone want to go halves?

Thanks
Moz

A Canon 24-70 or would you settle for a sigma?
when is this taking place?

Thanks Jonathan, but yesterday I got sucked into a camera shop and paid the extra $185 to get the Canon lens now. Now!

The record attempt(s) will be about every third day (weather permitting) from about the 22nd of June until the Dempsey-McReady prize deadline of July 2. We've bludged access to some kind of car-testing facility but I'm not sure what level of access we have - it's not "sponsored by Holden", put it that way.

If you need a 20D for a week, buy one 2nd hand from somewhere, use it and the sell it again. Better (and cheaper) that $200/day. Might cost you about $100 max in total or if you do it right cost you nothing. Just don't pay to much for it so that you can sell it again for the same price.
