Mmmmm lots of 30D goodness ... *drools*

I'm in heaven.
Picked up my 30D late yesterday afternoon and I've done nothing but stare at it since (ok, I lie, I did help cook dinner and didn't open the box until after we'd eaten, I had to improve the WAF somehow).
It is a thing of beauty.
Apart from a brief scare with Err99 which was resolved by cleaning the contacts on my lens & the camera (thank's to Richard's Notes), everything is wonderful.
I'm simply amazed at the quality of images I'm able to generate without even trying hard - a reward for my week's worth of concentrated practice with my film 500N I guess
The 580ex is also a thing of joy - I'm looking forward to learning how to use it properly -but in "paparazzi mode", it scared the living daylights out of my wife
*sighs contentedly*
None of the lenses I wanted (EF 17-40mm f/4 L USM and EF 50mm f/1.4 USM) weren't in stock, nor was the tripod or backpack - hopefully they'll be in early next week - meanwhile I'll be slumming it with the horribly slow EF 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6 and 75-300 f/4-5.6 lenses from my old 500N.
Such a great time to own a new camera in Adelaide - we've got the Adelaide Film Festival (presented by my wonderful employer and a host of other worthy organisations), the Adelaide Fringe, the 500 and womadelaide, to name just a few key events this month and next!
Well, back to getting my website working so I can publish some of this stuff
Cheers
Leigh
