580EX -- found a "feature"

Postby rmp on Thu Mar 22, 2007 9:52 pm

If you set flash exposure compensation on your camera the 580EX will override it. Unless the 580 is set to 0, in which case it reads off the camera. I found this out when I had the camera set to -2 and the 580 underexposed at the 580's setting of 0, but was fine a +/- 1/3.

Shall have to read the manuals again to see if I missed a custom function somewhere.

Thanks RPM, I have only used my 580EX in auto mode, but will need to explore manual settings soon :D
