Yeh, we had a Canon pro rep pop in to the studio yesterday arvo. Being a Nikon man myself I spent a good hour telling her everything that bugs the shit out of me RE Canon's and she just kept saying: yes, we knew about that and it's been addressed, and you know what? Almost all of my issues have been sorted with this release. It has a nice big clear screen, the eyepiece sits proud so your nose doesn't rub on the screen (too much), the buttons make more sense (still not as intuitive as a Nikon [and yes I do use both extensively]) and man you should hear the thing shoot! Ratatatatatatatata! It's insane at 10fps, and there's a Paparazzi friendly "Silent"
mode that stops the mirror from flapping around so you can get sneaky pictures thru people's windows!
Would I make the switch? Not yet. $6500 is a lot of money and as nice as the MkIII files look (check out robgalbraith's preview) I couldn't handle the pain that holding this lug of a body (in landscape orientation) causes my (probably!) feeble little hands! =]
Apparently we've got one coming in tomorrow for us to play with for a couple of days.
