430EZ on 400D

Postby robert on Tue Jul 31, 2007 11:58 pm

I have an old 430 EZ(not EX) flash that has been a great flash and always provided good service on film... I tried to use it for the first time today on a 400D and it registered the focal length (on the flash) but would not fire,

Is this flash compatible with the newer digital technology??

I at least expected it to fire and at worst metering be out. Are digital cameras diff to film in that any flash will fire on a film camera, they just need to be used in manual mode if not a dedicated flash,

Thanks
Robert
