I need help please

I have just brought myself my fisrt slr camera a canon 400D and today i took my some of my grand children to the beach. We had a great time and of course I took heaps of photos, I finally worked out how to view a raw file but what I dont know and cannot work out is how to save a raw file as a jpeg file can anyone help me please Nina

Hi Nina,
You will need some software that converts your RAW files to Jpeg. I don't know about Canon, but you may already have some software that came with your camera that will do the job. I'm sure a Canon user will come along soon to confirm this.

I normally use CS2 however if you got Digital Photo Professional with your camera software it will open a RAW file, let you make a few adjustments and under File/Convert and Save will let you save as a JPEG.

Thankyou all so much for your help

I to have photshop cs2 but I am notsure how to convert raw to jpeg through photshop I have been trying to work it out but have not do so as yet. I however did find the programme that came with my camera thankyou all so much take care

Really easy...........just open the file..........go to file (top left hand corner of screen) then save as (in the drop down menu) then a new small screen appears and choose your format type by using the drop down arrow next to the word format (ie Tiff Jpeg will display) highlight Jpeg and bingo. :D
