40D with an ipod 5.5G

I've been downloading my pics from a 400D onto an Ipod Video 5.5g via the camera adapter. I am wondering if anyone has tried doing this with the 40D as i am contemplating upgrading to a 40D. I am hoping that the ipod will still work with the 40D.

how long does this transfer take? I heard it's slow... Unless you take massive amounts of photos >30 Gb, it might be cheaper to buy several CF cards which are cheap as dimes these days...

it is pretty slow, about 1/2 hr for 2-3 gigs. I usually bring it along when i travel, as i have about 8 gigs in cf which is usually enough for the day, then when i am back at the hotel i let it transfer by itself. i normally have the ipod with me when i travel so why not to use it as extra storage.
