New 450D and Lenses.

Postby tangy1 on Tue Jul 15, 2008 7:29 am

Well after 2 weeks of debating I took the plunge and ordered my new canon and lens.
Cant wait to get them and start the huge learning curve.
I got a canon 450d and some lenses.
Canon EF 28-135mm f3.5-5.6 IS USM and a Tamron SP AF90mm F/2.8 Di Macro 1:1 .
Now looking into a budget telephoto.
Thinking of getting the Tamron 70-300mm F/4-5.6 LD 1:2 Macro Lens.

Congatulations... you won't be sorry for your choice! Looking forward to seeing all the pics you take with your new toy! :)
The last thing I want to do is hurt you... but it's still on the list... ;)

Congratulations :) I've had my 450D for a month now and every day I love it more - it really is a wonderful little camera :) Don't forget to put up some 'first' images in the forum when you get it in! Would love to hear what you think of the Tamron macro lens as well once you've had a play with it :)

I have this lens in the Nikon mount, it does the job but you will be in for slow, noisy AF compared to a AF-S (Nikon) or USM (Canon) lens. If you must get a budget tele, then this is a better choice than the 75-300 Canon

May I suggest maybe holding off the budget tele and wait til you can afford something a little better?
