Never mind the quality, feel the width.

And seriously, the quality is pretty bloody awesome too.

Thinking about this, It wouldn't be that hard to make a view adapter for DSLR's that included the lens from one of these cameras, bellows, and a full view camera movements. With liveview, that could be awesome kit.

Rooz, in comparisson to todays Glass its not as good - definately not sharp compared to todays quality lenses, but for the age and the way it was used on a modern camera amazed me and to see that it was still pretty darn sharp. I think for its age it was pretty decent! Subject matter and the shots taken could have been better selected but still it worked!

The (relative) sharpness (given the age of the glass) is just a part of what we're seeing here.

But there's something else too, which a lot of modern glass doesn't have. It's a bit like comparing film vs digital, or vinyl vs digital in sound.

The example images posted carry that "something" which makes them stand out a little from the crowd. You don't get that feeling from modern glass.

You can also do this with a large format camera, which should not have any problems with sharpness and for that matter offers possibilities for Scheimpflug effect and stitching.
