And well they may talk.

For a good many years too, most likely.

What do you find is the problem with your current kit?

Birddog114 dont you sleep???

As yet I too haven't heard anything about these but only time will tell and it's sorta like computer technology!!!! It's only going to get better and better and before we know it, it will out pass film detail!!!

Cheers

Mic - are you serious ???

I know that we can get carried away looking at what the next generation will bring, but looking that far into the future ??? Perhaps I am the odd one out here

You might want to also look at what PC's will be doing in 5-10 years as well. I can almost guarantee you that whatever specs the D4 - D5 series have, their file sizes won't be conducive to today's PC's.

I agree with Dave - let’s not go down the path of ”when” ”what” etc. In the days of vinyl records would anyone have thought of having CD’s in the future

Excuse me - my fission kettle has just boiled and I need to get repairs done to my personal cloaking device - see ya’ll

Gary, I think I will like the D200 with all it's bells & Whistles & my D70 as back if just tries to keep working that is.

I didn't know these were that far off, the Miranda Folk were talking about them as if they are not that far off

The D3 probably isn't that far off.

Based on what the good people at Nikon are suggesting with the D2x sensor, expect a megapixel range in the 20's

Give it another 12-18 months! we haven't reach the mature date of the D2x yet!
But the "real" when, where & what are something we don't require to know, coz the D70, D200 and the D2s are still bringing lot of happy to Nikon users.

Mick,

I haven't a clue about what's said on the Freddo Miranda site, but my understanding is that they're a more Canon focussed site. Were they perhaps discussing the 5D?

The Nikon reality is that there might be some word of a D3 towards the end of next year at the earliest. Expect to hear about a D4 no earlier than 3 years beyond that, and the D5 another 3 or 4 years hence.

But again, what features do you expect the D200 to give you that your D70 cannot handle?

Amen Birdy !

However, I do wonder if we will see the introduction of "in-camera curve creation" in the near future. Imagine being able to take a reference shot then being able to create a curve "in-camera" - I guess using a similar principle to PRE WB....set for the current lighting situation, then manually change again when your lighting changes. Of course, this would also be bottlenecked by the small and sometimes misleading LCD screen...but still may be a handy feature.....as is PRE WB !

It's doable, as the D2x can have few PRESET WB stored, it's just a matter of/ from Nikon's R&D Dept., but we may see it in the horizon.

Gary,

It was a Nikon Section on Freddo's. Just got me wondering.

I don't really know, maybe 100ISO & Bigger LCD & a few other goodies ?

Plus it is a bigger number 200

20MP on a DX sensor=only the best glass...

+ steady steady hands or set of legs...
