Dust on sensor.I'm not sure whether to put this one in the humour section.
There's a new thread on DPR about cleaning the dust off the FF sensor on the D3, and the first response suggests that the OP use the new Eclipse 2, which has been specially formulated for the new sensors. Ok ... given that the old Eclipse was just pure Ethanol (I think .... Trent ??? ) what might be in this new eclipse? Any thoughts, people? g.

I note that despite the fact that the original fluid was suitable for .... whatever .... they're now recommending the new fluid for what seems to be every digital SLR.
Go figure Methanol V2 it is. g.

I will try and dig up the article I read about a bloke who cleaned his 5D with the original Eclipse fluid. Ended up costing him a bomb. He now uses E2 and hasn't had a problem.
That was good enough for me. E2 is all I use now.
You're not going to consider the possibility of user error? g.

Well it is anecdotal evidence, so obviously it could have been user error. Having said that, anyone who cant wet clean a sensor shouldn't be given any sharp objects imho. But, I am in the Nikon area of the forums.
Yep. We do permit lesser beings in here. g.

Looks a lot like user error to me ...
