D300: Battery information

Postby ATJ on Sat Dec 29, 2007 9:52 am

I love the battery information menu option. This is so much better than anything the D70 had. Not only do I get what condition the battery is in, but it also tells me how many images I have taken on the current battery.

I changed the battery for the first time last night. I was just starting to get the low battery warning. I had 499 shutter actuations so I know I can easily do more than 500 on freshly charged battery. That's enough for three dives without changing the battery which means I can do a double dive without returning to shore. I was able to achieve the same thing with the D70, but didn't know how far I could push it.

It sounds like you're having fun with your new bit of kit. Have you been able to obtain a new housing for the d300?

Bob,

Ikelite are now shipping the housings. Once B&H have some stock I will order mine - probably some time in January.

Edit: B&H now have them in stock. I may be getting it sooner than I thought. I just now have to convince my beautiful wife.
