Zeiss discovers auto meteringThis may be the best thing since sliced bread and the 7D.

Re: Zeiss discovers auto focus!Pardon me if I'm thick, but the link refers to Lens data being sent back. No mention of auto-focus..
Is this the right link, or did I misread the article, or did you? Greg
It's easy to be good... when there is nothing else to do
Re: Zeiss discovers auto meteringGreg,
my Sony I have fixed the misleading title. Thanks for pointing that out!
Re: Zeiss discovers auto metering
Ahh Gary... that kills me every time!
Re: Zeiss discovers auto metering
We love our sony around here.
Re: Zeiss discovers auto meteringthanks for the link. appreciate you looking out.
not really that big a deal though, the only benefit i can see is the lens info in exif. with a d200/300/700 you get metering anyway. this change would be a major advantage to the level down from that, (d80, d90 etc), that cant meter Ai type lens'. Re: Zeiss discovers auto metering
OK. I didn't know this amount of detail. They just need to put their foot down and work on the AF don't they?
Re: Zeiss discovers auto metering
To incorporate forum behaviour which I detest... Regards, Patrick
Two or three lights, any lens on a light-tight box are sufficient for the realisation of the most convincing image. Man Ray 1935. Our mug is smug
Re: Zeiss discovers auto meteringNo more manual lens input required...that is a HUGE plus for anyone who has a D200 or a D2 series camera, even with a D3/300/700 it means you can free up your manual lens data bank for other lenses. Shame about AF though.
