I've noticed this on my d70 as well as others, that there is banding in the dark areas when shooting long exposures, just wondering if the D2x is immune to this.

I did some 3 minute exposures on Friday night of the thunderstorm and had no banding issues - even when major 's' curving. RAW helps stop banding in my experience, but even the JPEGs looked fine (RAW+MEDIUM JPG)
