What new Nikons should have

Postby JZA70-mel on Sun Dec 25, 2005 2:12 pm

Having handled a sweet D200 in the shops yesterday, I got to thinking about other (non photographic) features these cameras should have.

Essentially now they are small computers with a big screen on the back. They should be easy to load up with some feature that increases the usability.

I am NOT thinking of video games or polyphonic ringtones!

However to use the analogy of mobile phones, some sort of password feature (when changing the battery) would make this substantial investment a bit more theft resistant - although it does not seem to deter mobile phone thieves.

Any other features that you would find useful?

A hotshoe cover. I can't believe all but the most basic/low end/consumer models to incorproate external flash support has a plastic tab or similar to cover the hotshoe contacts from dust, debris, etc.

I'd say what I think a camera would be good if it came with... but I'm not actually allowed to at the moment.

I think part of the problem is that I'm not allowed to say anything as part of a piece of paper.

Makes life no fun.

We are talking about SLR's here right? not a popularity contest or a fashion show? Skins?? nothing sexier then a black nikon... doesnt need to be changed, Onyx made a good comment on a flash shoe protector..

Only thing i could maybe suggest is maybe remote control shutter function... other then that, im perfectly happy with them as they are now
