While only a limited number of D70 cameras are affected by this advisory, if:

(1) when a memory card is inserted, your D70's memory card access lamp blinks, locking camera operations and preventing operation, or

(2) with no memory card inserted, the camera will not turn on despite the battery indicator showing a fully charged battery, Nikon Inc. will service it free of charge.

To obtain complimentary service for cameras affected by this advisory kindly send your camera to:
Maxwell Optical Industries PTY Limited

I'm surprised the SQ can still be serviced.

That's quite an old digi... then again, the 3100 and the 5700 are, too.

Let me tell you that this is great for me as recently I noticed that my 5700 had a colour cast slowly getting worse. And recently few pics were black.

I was going to throw it away. But remembered Nikon does free quote so I looked up this and VIOLA  :D :D

Happy, Happy Happy Joy Joy

Also give me a reason to send in my F801 which can't lock forcus for a quote at the same time. YAY. I thought it would not be worth it. But since I will be sending this in why not. If it is real cheap quote I will get it fixed

My old 5700 that i sold to a friend is taking totally black images. This will keep him happy and relieve me of the guilt of selling him a dud camera ;)
