I noticed that there currently is a AU$200 rebate (in form of a voucher) on D70s+lens purchases. This usually rings in the discontinuation of the affected product and the imminent introduction of its successor.

Cheers
Steffen.

I don't think you should hold your breath on any sort of speculations...even if past experience has shown a new model following a rebate offer.

Oh and April Fool's day was two weeks ago

Ha, I'm not exactly holding my breath, this isn't likely going to be something that would make me trade in my camera

I kid you not! just check out http://www.nikon.com.au for yourself, it's there in big bold letters.

Cheers

This rebate is similar to the first period of launching the D70.

Steffen,
Back to holiday mode please!

Wasn't there a rebate on the D70 at about this time last year?

I would say that it would just be one of those after Christmas promos to encourage people to spend money when they are just starting to recover from the Christmas credit card bite.

Cheers

Can't actually think of any time where a rebate preceded a new model in the Nikon world of cameras...
Anyone care to comment?
