Problem opening a NEF

I took a few photographs on the weekend and while I can load all but one of them. One gives me errors.

They were all taken in RAW format. I can view the thumbnails and the images with NikonView - but I assume it is just looking at the imbeded JPEG. If I try to open it with Nikon Editor or Nikon Capture Editor I get the following error messages:






If I try to open it with PaintShopPro 9, the colours are all screwed up.

Has anyone had this problem before? Is there anyway to recover?

Probabbly the file is currupted on transfer or while on the card...

I hope it is not an important picture. BTW, do you see a thumbnail preview of it in windows explorer??

And if you still have the master copy on the card, try downloading it from the card again..

I still have it on the card and I get the same messages trying to read it directly from the card. It wasn't all that important but I don't like losing photos

I can view the whole image in Nikon Viewer. Even 1:1.

Are you able to try and open the file in another program like Photoshop, Bibble, Capture One or Rawshooter.

You can download a free trial of some of these programs if your really desperate to retrieve these images.

Nope.

No option to move it - but it wouldn't help as the file on the card has the problem. I tried the email option in NV and it crapped out - caused NV to crash.

Looks like all I will be able to do is a screen capture of what NV shows.
