I doubt if Phil Askey's review will be up in the near future.

I'm guessing this review is with a pre production model used in other sites previews ...

My guess is that Nikon is phasing out the D70s and replacing it with the D80 so you wouldn't upgrade to it from the 70, more aimed at first time buyers.
I agree with you though about the SD card, eventually the D80 owners may want to upgrade and they would have to buy CF cards.
