evening everybody, i took the D70 out for it's first shoot over the weekend to see some friends doing a dancing demo,

anyway more to the point, here is a collection of photos i have put together for some feedback,

they were all shot at 85mm 1.8F a good learning excercise.

hi

I like the fifth, with the b&w. You have captured the light well on black outfits, which is not always easy to meter from...

Looks like my 85/1.8 worked well for you

thanks Oz, it was a very different experience shooting with a fixed lens, which did a fantastice job. very much appreciated.

i really learnt alot about lighting and positioning when taking these.

Great start for your first photo shoot! Like the first b&w and the third color. I would've thought we would see more colours at a dance festival huh?

hehehe thanks, the B+W is one of my favourites.

from the day.

it was more a social event for the troupe than a festival, they will be competing at the salsa nationals in sydney this friday, they used the display as a bit of a practice.
