My camera stinks!!!

Postby Justin on Mon Sep 04, 2006 11:24 am

But mainly because this drunken photographer managed to spill half a bottle of beer over it at the end of a long night...

So it smells like a brewery and the pop-up lens is glued down with gummy dried beer. Yes was too pissed to clean it properly at the time. At the time I thought it was pretty hysterical

That demon alcohol...

But the camera has survived perfectly, just have to hold my breath when taking photos, which is good technique anyway.

Anyway good info for the future if anyone was concerned about taking the camera to a brewery....

woops - that would be the pop-up flash. I must still be hungover

Someone was asking what a used 35-70 goes for earlier, how about a beer-soaked 35-70 - lol - still works just fine!

Piro, no I love it still and it now has a dose of street cred

Your camera will soon acquire a more sophisticated pallette and will crave fine wines, spirits and liquers. You better watch out!

Justin

I'd be getting as much beer residue removed as possible since it's possible for the sugar and other nasties to cause damage over time.

My camera also got beered!
It happened when a picture of me and a friend were getting our picture taken then like 10 happy drunk Aussie jumped in the picture! and put his beer hand over my shoulder pouring beer over! Got a picture of it happening but the man's face is blocked. haha. Lucky the 70-200 is weather sealed (even if it is raining beer!)

Stubbsy I've opened everything that does and wiped down a couple times with a damp cloth - don't smell no more...
