now that i'm getting serious about my photography, my camera bag and it's contents are adding up and worth a bit of money now and would be stuffed if i had my gear stolen or lost...

just wondering if people insure their collection, and if so, how do you go about getting insurance for your stuff?

Your stuffs can be insured while it is sitting at home by your home insurance, just have to fill up an update form to the insurance company about your gears...

While out on location, your home insurance does not cover this. Which you may have to look at something else...
