D200 remote control socket caps- Thanks to Nikon Aust!

My D70 finally suffered the BGLOD and was sent in to Nikon Aust for a warranty job.
I also stuck a ten dollar note in there stapled to a sheet asking for as many D200 remote control socket caps as it would pay for.
Over the Christmas break is a bad time to get anything done, but today when I got into work, there was a cardboard box on my desk.
In there was a fresh looking D70 and a small plastic bag with four remote control socket caps and a smiley face drawn on it.

So don't go paying extortionate prices on ebay!

I haven't lost mine yet, but its good to know it isn't too price to replace the little buggers.

Well, sending ten dollars to Nikon Australia would be a fair start...

A container load would not be excessive.

As difficult as it is to imagine-True. I had used the remote release for some shots and i don't think it was tightened enough. So I think i must have screwed it off while wiping the D200 down after the shoot( and i can't think where else it could have happened) . I checked my camera bag my whole study and the surrounding slate but no luck. We could make a movie out of this one. I think the butler did it! :)
cheers

Hey Marco,

It was only a joke mate - along the lines of - "I was cleaning my gun officer, and it went off - honest!"

The Naked City was an oooold cop show...

I wasn't having a go at your camera cleaning skills! :D

Cheers

Geez I got ripped. I lost mine and Nikon Aus would not supply one, instead sending me to a retailer where I paid $7.50

I asked the man behind the counter in a Melbourne Photo shop if he had one and he took out a box full. A bit like plectrums (50c each) I suspected.

He charged me $10 for 1 and even worse I paid.

I lost mine at either Apia Airport Samoa, Tonga Airport or Auckland Airport. Next time I will buy a ticket and re trace my steps. Probably cheaper. At that rate if I re built my D200 out of spare parts it would cost me about $34,000,000.
