Camera Armour Update

Postby Raskill on Wed Apr 25, 2007 5:48 pm

I contacted teh Good folk at Camera Armour, seeking protection for my D2h's.

This was the reply:

Thanks for your inquiry regarding our products. We’re currently working on the Armor for Nikon D2X which we plan to launch in early July. As for the Armor for larger size lenses, I’m unable at this point to provide you with estimated time of availability due to several projects that are being in the works right now. We’re certainly planning on making it, I’m just not sure how soon. Please let me know, if you have any further questions.

Not long to go now....

Why would you need a silica condom on the D2H which is really tough and weather sealed already?? I'm just curious...

Wouldn't the armour be more for ruggedness than for water resistance? I can see a use for it where the camera's in danger of being scratched, whacked or dropped.

I would have thought July was a fair answer, better than any Nikon promise

better than the reply I got which was obviously a form reply and told me less than nothing. I replied to it stating my original question again and finally got a person talking back to me. No plans for the D-Fitty yet but they assure me its on the cards.

I was happy with a July estimate, and yes, the armour is for bumps and knocks rather than anything else. Photographing motorsport you end up climbing walls, and throwing gear down where ever you are

My once nice, clean Sigma 120-300 is now covered in gaffer tape, stickers and scrapes! Lucky my latest D2h is already 'ugly'!
