Thom Hogan's D80 review

Postby jammy2 on Sat Nov 18, 2006 8:28 pm

Just a heads-up, Thom Hogans D80 review is up. It looks pretty favourable though he does comment on some amp noise under extreme shooting conditions (and after extreme post-processing ie. auto-levels) for some early serial number cams.

Thanks for the link :)

I thought it was a pretty fair review and in line with my own observations.

Good link, interesting to see an in-depth review other than dpreview.

I'm looking to purchase a d80 in the next couple of months so any references to this model are particularly welcome.

good review. I am a little worried about one thing though. My D80's serial number is 20550... He said that the problem cameras were pre 305000. Bugger! Although He did say that it is the american ones that start with 30, mine is from the UK which is why it starts with 20. I wonder if mine will have the same issues.

Various bits of borrowed/stolen glass/speedlights etc. - zero style or taste.
