got a d200?!

i got my d200 tonight. it is a really strange surprise, i didnt expect to get a new body for a few weeks...

but as i said in another thread, insurance had my stuff sorted today, and then diamonds called me up straight away to tell me i could go in and grab a d80... twisted their arm ever so slightly and they let me upgrade to a d200 for $680.

so $680 later, i now have a d200 camera. its cool... i really love the way you dont have to touch the menus to change all the important stuff, the viewfinder is DOPE, lcd screen is huge compared to the d70 (i probably wouldnt be so impressed if i still had the d70s.... but its still big), and it just feels 'right' in my hands.

i only took a few shots in my lounge to get my head around the controls but im definitely happy with it, and im pretty sure i made the right decision...

now need to buy more cf cards, mb200, more batteries, and it will be sweeeet.

Congratulations, you lucky sod. I keep drooling over the D200, and I'm sure you'll have stacks of enjoyment, fondling the new toy.

especially at 5fps

i always liked the feel of my d70 and d70s in my hand, but the d200 feels much more like my f4 (perfect)... but not as heavy... the f4 is a BRICK

good stuff James

I like your work with the D70S so am expecting even better with the D200.

maybe one day you could teach an old fart like me how it's done

enjoy

hahahah,

i doubt my photos will look that much better, on a computer screen, anyway. in print they will be a lil bit nicer for double page spreads.

but you might be seeing some sequences from me, and i'll be much happier when i'm shooting... the d200 feels perfect in my hands and i love all the dedicated buttons.

and if you want me to teach you anything i'm more than happy, but i dont really have that much to offer... i'm very amateur!!!
