Thanks for the Link André - especially given it's from my most trusted reviewer. It seems the 28-70/2.8 may have had it's day from reading this.

I didn't like how it felt in comparison to the 28-70 to be honest.

I will second that, after purchasing the 18-200 VR (a versatile and great walk around / travelling lens) when you want that bit extra, on goes the 28-70 F2.8! The plan was to sell this and the 70-200VR, but having been spoilt with the focus speed and quality I am gamely hanging on to them
