Moose Peterson has just put up a new review site about the D3 and his experiences with the camera

I thought this would be a good time to make live our D3 site. What you’ll find here are just some of my early observations shooting with the D3. I really enjoy shooting with the D3, know you will as well! This is just a user report based on my first month of shooting with the D3. It’s nowhere near complete, I have more I want to add, this is just a start.

I'm rather disappointed. I used to like reading Moose's articles back in the 90's, but he's turned too obviously into a Nikon cheer leader these days.

The gallery on his D3 page should have been trimmed down quite a bit too, IMHO. I was particularly shocked by the hugely oversharpened images (like the ram running down a slope). And by the large amount of mediocre shots (of the kind I could have almost taken).

You have to maintain a balanced approach when reviewing stuff if you want to be taken seriously. I feel that Moose's writings don't add much nowadays, other than maybe temporary relief for buyer's remorse... ;)

Cheers
Steffen.

EDIT: I'm still getting a D3, whether Moose pimps it or not :D

Well I have to agree with Streffen (I also have a D3 on order), the quality of images in his gallery is mediocre at best.

Goes to show that a Pro camera doesn't always take pro images, its all depends on the carbon based lifeform behind the lens.
